I hope this turns out better than the last time they elected their Attorney General governor.

Oddly enough, this feels very similar to Spitzermania in a lot of ways.

I know, time to hop off the Cuomotrain kids, that choo choo train has a lot of time to implode

And it's not like it's possible to effectively govern New York in the near future or anything

If this is true, i kinda feel sorry for Paterson. I mean, polls show that he would lose in a landslide to Cuomo. It must be humiliating to not get anywhere near to your party's nomination when you're the Governor of a state.

That said, GO CUOMO!!!!

Ask Frank Murkowski.

What the hell? It was his for the taking! Ugh, Paterson. I feel sorry for New Yorkers, having to decide between Giuliani and Paterson... I'd vote for the Apathy Party candidate.

I think the deal was that he'd run if Cuomo didn't.

Yea. Especially Murphy, Arcuri, Owens and Massa and to a lesser extent, Hall. If Giuliani does beat Paterson he will be winning crushing landslides in every upstate District except for the Tonko's 21st and Slaughters 28th. The 29 and 26 will probably exceed 60%. The others will be in the mid to high 50's for Rudy.

Huh

What?  Does he have some colossal skeletons in his closet that'd come out if he ran for higher office or something?

Well, this certainly is good news for Republicans. Too bad Paterson didn't appoint himself as Senator. Personally, I'd rather win a Senate seat than a Governorship, but oh well. A win's a win. Smiley

Isn't there still a decent chance that some other Dem. will run against Paterson?

Er, guys, some dude posted a random unsourced blogspot blog posting. There's literally no news anywhere else about Cuomo not running: http://news.google.com/news/search?aq=f&pz=1&cf=all&ned=us&hl=en&q=andrew+cuomo

edit: In fact, a NYT article suggests that Cuomo has already decided to run and is now in the campaign planning stages.

Giuliani isn't running, is he?  I heard he had taken a job somewhere, and so would be out in 2010.
