The Cult of the Presidency by Gene Healy

I just finished the book. It's about the evolution of the presidency over the years. How a chief magistrate charged with proper execution of the law became the leader of the free world. It's a very interesting read, and I highly recommend it.
Has anybody else read it?

No, but it does sound interesting.
Yeah, it does. However, I'd like to say that, compared to the French one, the American President has not so much powers.

Compared to the Prime Minister of Canada (with a parliamentary majority), the American President is comparatively weak.

The current one, yes. A useful one, no.

There are very few leaders in the First World with as much power as the President of France.
