I ask simply because it's something I suppose is on my mind more than most people.  I'm always on the lookout for the next exciting thing and feel restless or even bored doing the same thing over and over.  I dread the imminent slowdown and am even afraid to return to my normal life.  I think right now is the fastest it's gonna get and I only want it to go faster. Smiley

What do you think of the pace of your lifestyle and the excitement you get from it?  Are you content with where you are or would you rather be doing more?  I'm interested to hear how people think about this kind of stuff.

I am absolutely a creature of habit and prioritize ease at every turn, that said I live in a foreign land.  So a bit of both.

For example ever since I've lived here I've never changed apartments, and I will certainly avoid doing so if possible - who wants the trouble of moving, and to have to get used to a new apartment?

My travels have become less and less, due of course to extreme poverty more than anything else, but in generally it is highly unlikely that anyplace in the world could be any better than the place I go.

I actually feel the same way, Fezzy. One of my frustrations in college, more so than in life in general, is that people seem satisfied with the status quo, the same old, same old mundane life that never changes, never gets exciting. They go about their lives going the same thing each day, and fear change, fear excitement, and fear experiencing new and different situations or lifestyles. I find college, many times, repetitive and boring. Drinking gets old. Partying with the same people every weekend gets old. I've taken up the practice of visiting old friends at other college campuses just to spice up my life. It's help me immensely short term, but I fear returning to campus here because it's more of the same.

The only think that keeps me going is that this is a temporary situation. I'll be graduated and done in a year and a half, and can move on to bigger and better things. The people I've met here can go back to their average, boring lives and be happy as well. I am an extremely restless person, and it only got worse when I left for school because, let's face it, Charleston > Winston-Salem.

It is worth noting that FezzyFestoons and AHDuke are highly privileged persons, and being thus free from fear are much more likely to prioritize thrills.  Most poors (the bottom 90-95%) of people, are so dreadfully in fear of running out of money that they never do anything unusual.

It is a survival response, very useful.

It rather depends on precisely what part of my life........sometimes yes, and sometimes I'm very conservative and safe.

Nah, they do, and that's why we're in a crazy economy...

No, not at all.  Other people pass me by; but they'll break down and explode in flames in a few miles, while I'll be signing book deals and having an awesome job Smiley

Yes and no.  I like to do new and exciting things, I go anywhere I feel like looking for something new.  I've driven over 10,000 miles since I got my new car in April.  But alas, at the end of the day I always like to return home and see the familiar things I know.

I prefer to take the rural back-roads.
