Oh, heavens no, that's the last thing this country needs.  He's a good Senator for Oklahoma, but he would make a horrible president.  You though Sarah Palin would be bad, this guy is Palin x20.

I've been telling you guys how batsh*t insane Coburn is since day one I've been on here, now do you guys believe it?! Me and Okie are opposites on the PM (I'm socially libertarian to the friggin max, half way to the right on economics; Okie is socially authoritarian (such a dirty word) and his economics score is on the other side mine is) and we (as citizens of Oklahoma) both can tell you guys first hand that Coburn as president would be pure insanity. That should tell you all something about the kookiness of Coburn if a radical libertarian atheist like myself and a bleedingheart populist christian like BushOK are in consensus that Coburn as president would be scary.

Mechaman, I was making a joke. We do have a poster named CoburnIn2012.

I know you were referencing CoburnIn2012, but I also wanted to take the time to reinforce how f***ing scary Tom Coburn as president would be.
Also, I wanted to point that out to JC who said this:

There are more serious contenders that are more fear-inducing. Mike Huckabee, for starters.

I guess.
What's scarier? A candidate who believes all AIDS patients should be looked in concentration camps or a candidate who would want to make a death penalty for abotionists and considers the gay agenda to be the biggest threat to American freedoms?
A tossup easily. Then again, seeing as how Mike Huckabee is sellable he probably is the scarier candidate.

My crazy socialist uncle (he's from a sh**tty state called Jersey) tried to get me to believeelieve Mitt Romney wanted to quarantine AIDS patients, as if those comments could be spewed by any contender other than Mike Huckabee. Mike Huckabee would make me vote for a Libertarian.

Why vote for a Libertarian? That wouldn't help prevent Huckabee's election. You'd have to vote for Obama to make any demonstrable impact. Anyways, I'd never vote for either Huckabee or Coburn, and would definitely vote for any Democrat over those two crazies.

That is scary.  Neither are bad men, personally, they just have some off-the-wall politics to put it nicely.

Well I am not as near as generous on these fascist enablers as my very VERY polite and nice fellow Okie so I'll just go ahead and call friggin spades friggin spades.
Okie politicians like those two are the reason why in Oklahoma I'm a hardcore Democrat (well some blame also has to be placed on the very restrictive ballot access laws, otherwise I would vote Libertarian in every election) voter. I know the thought of voting Democrat sickes alot of you independents, Republicans, and Libertarians but in a two state oligarchy where there is the batty guy and then there is the relatively normal sane guy, I'm pretty sure most of you would go with the sane guy.
All of that doesn't change the fact that on this issue Tom Coburn is a sane.

How is Coburn like Palin?

Intelligent, but far, far right-wing.

Palin isn't very intelligent.

She's actually one of the brightest bulbs in the box, but she just doesn't show it very much.

How do you know that a tree falling in the woods makes a sound if no one is around to hear it?

Seriously though, I'd like to put my bulb in her box....

They're trying to kill you, worker.  If that isn't 'bad' to you, what is?

Perfect.  (Me too.)

Wait.  Who was the forumite who said, "But she's had six kids...imagine how loose it is...?"  That was a pretty cool crack, too.

Twenty percent of Americans would probably vote for a libertarian, but are taught that they "won't win anyways."  It's a self-fulfilling prophecy.

And, wow, I never thought reading a bill could be used as a threat.

No, but what is bad is that you are not constrained in a rehab program for sex-addicts-who-have-no-lives
