In my view, the less a politician does, the better.  Another recommendation for Kerry.

Ah, but this thread was merely a recital of the bills which Kerry wrote which were adoped.

Never forget all the tax increases he voted for!

This is biased because everyone knows Kerry was the senate's resident prosecutor and this record is only of bills. Come back when you actually know what Kerry spent his time in the senate doing. If it was 42% of his first 8 months vacationing at Martha's Vineyard, then fine, you can say he's a lazy ass.

Bush is worse.  Kerry has done so much more with his political life than just pain being an @sshole.

Cheney got only 2 bills passed in his 11 years in Congress.
However, people unfamiliar with the Senate might not realize that most legislation gets passed as amendment and riders.

In addition, Kerry has other elements of his record that are not reflected in legislation that passed, including
saving a Republican US Senators life, and chairing important investigations on the Iran contras, drug smuggling and other scandals.

I'm well aware of legislative procedure, but his legislative record is hardly substantial.  BTW:  Performing the Heimlich maneuver isn't a legislative or governmental act.

So what did Cheney do in the House besides say that its a myth that low gas prices are good for America, and calling for massive gas taxes?

Also while I'm talking about Cheney: He claims Edwards never shows up in the Senate. How come Edwards has presided over the Senate 7 times to Cheney's 3? Edwards could only preside over the Senate during the 19 months that Democrats controlled it.

Cheney needs to show up for work.

He did do substantially more as Secretary of Defense, like planning a war, beginning the restructuring of the military, not to mention as chief of staff of the White House.  Cheney was, after 11 years, the House whip, one of the leaders; what leadership positions does (or did) Kerry hold?

Now, in all fairness, Kerry did a few other things in the public sector; what accomplishments did he have there?

I would be happy to post the press release summary that factcheck.org has.  They are a neutral party.  Would you like me to do that, so that other readers can judge?

John McCain once said that it does not matter how many bills actually bear ones name. Due to the processes in the senate, a bill perhaps originally proposed by say, Boxer, may end up being passed, in a slightly different form by Pryor...

Senator Kerry is as qualified to be US President as much as, if not more so, than Bush was in 2000.

I gather Texas is a gubnatorially weak state and what did Bush actually do as governor, apart from sign execution orders?
