abortion-I tend to just avoid that one..it should be between the pregnant lady, the dude that knocked her up and her doctor.  The govt, the church, and everybody else should ignore them, wish them luck, pray for them, do anything they want except tell them what to do about it

environment-extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.  Way too many people on both sides have axes to grind to be trustworthy and the biggest cheerleader on the "save the earth" side is a lying jackass who tried to get the govt to ban "bad" music in the 80s.

I can't think of any that I flat out don't care about but the importance of abortion and gay marriage have been overblown, if only because people like Presidents, Senators, etc. don't really have a tremendous impact on those issues thanks to the courts.

Let's face it: most of the so-called libertarians in this thread saying they don't really care about abortion, gay marriage, etc. are doing it so that they don't have to take a position that alienates their allies. But nobody - literally, nobody who votes - cares about pork-barrel projects. They simply aren't expensive enough to be taken into consideration.

Everyone on this thread has posted their positions on those issues before. That's all I really have to say on that.

Depending on the figures (e.g. Citizens Against Government Waste) they could be up to $290 billion or more of the budget not even factoring in the stimulus. That's not exactly chump change, although obviously what is 'pork' is more than a little subjective. Anyway, I think you're ignoring the real issue which is that a lot of the electorate loves to complain about government (be it pork, entitlements, etc.) until they feel they directly benefit from it... It's the same reason that the majority of people say they hate congress except for their congressman.

Certainly, to emphasize their perfect obedience to the cultural conservative social policy. Because American libertarians are cowards.
