What is the Dent-Roberts-Kennedy Act?
What some people called the Dent-Kennedy act because of Roberts's work on health care and the bill.

Are you talking about recent? Then yes, but there was Dent-Kennedy Act (insurance for everyone below 18) before. So haywkeye may mind this.
That's what I was talking about. I voted aye on both.

Benjamin Katz

Democratic Party - Virginia

Born: May 3, 1923

Chief Justice of the Supreme Court

Born in Richmond, Virginia, Katz graduated first in his class from Washington and Lee University in 1945, and from the law school in 1948.  He served as a law clerk for Judge Armistead Mason Dobie of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit from 1948-1950, and for Justice Tom C. Clark on the Supreme Court from 1950-1952.  From 1954 until 1963, he was involved in private practice for the firm of Hunton, Williams, Gay, Powell and Gibson.  A supporter of Lyndon Johnson for President in 1956 and 1960, he was rewarded when Johnson became President in 1963 with an appointment to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.  He held that position until 1978, when he was appointed Chief Justice by President Carter following the death of Chief Justice Burger.

John Watts Buckley III (D-VA)

Virginia State House of Delegates for the 18th district (1978-1982)
Virginia Attorney General (1982-1985)
Democratic nominee for Governor of Virginia (1985)
United States Senator from Virginia (1989-present)

John Watts Buckley III was born to an Irish American family in Winchester, Frederick County, Virginia in 1950. He attended school in his home town of Winchester and later the University of Virginia. On March 21, 1971, one day after his 21st birthday, Buckley married Jennifer Davis (born July 1951). They have three children together: John Watts “Johnny” Buckley IV (born October 1971), Sarah Elizabeth Buckley (born August 1973) and Johanna Mary Buckley (born April 1978).

In 1977, at age 27, Jenkinson ran for and was elected to the Virginia State House of Delegates for the 18th district. While in the State House he established himself as a moderate-to-conservative Democrat. After severing for four years in the State House, Buckley was elected to the position of Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Virginia. He served as State Attorney General until 1985, when he resigned the position after he won the Democratic nomination for the governorship. He was later defeated by incumbent Republican Governor John Petersen by a 46-40-14% margin. Buckley resumed his work as an attorney in Winchester, Virginia. However, in 1988 he returned to politics as the surprising Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate, having narrowly upset Lyndon Johnson’s heavily favored son-in-law Chuck Robb in the Democratic primary. Despite the 1988 Republican victory in Virginia in the Presidential election, Buckley was elected to the Senate by a 41-36-23% margin.

Name:  John Michael Kingston, II
Political Party/State:  Democrat-Massachusetts
Political Position:  Junior United States Senator from Massachusetts
Religion:  Episcopal

John Michael Kingston II (D-MA)

Mayor of Springfield, Massachusetts  (1979 - 1983)
United States Representative from Massachusetts' 2nd District  (1983 - 1987)
Junior United States Senator from Massachusetts  (1987 - Present)

John Michael Kingston II was born to an Irish American family in Springfield, Massachusetts on October 25, 1950.  He attended catholic school in his home town of Springfield.  Although raised Catholic, he would later become a member of the Episcopal Church.  He attended law school at Brown University.

In 1971, Kingston married his high school sweetheart, Cheryl Weatherby.  They have four children together:  John Michael Kingston III (born 1971), Christopher Patrick Kingston (born 1974), Stephanie Nicole Kingston (born 1977), and Denise Tara Kingston (born 1980).

Kingston made waves throughout Massachusetts in 1978 when he was elected Mayor of the state's third largest city, Springfield, at just 28 years old.  As Mayor, Kingston introduced social programs and increased the size of the police force.  By 1980, the city's crime rate had been cut in half.  He also began a comprehensive reform of the city's educational system, and by 1982 many more students were completing their high school educations.

In 1982, at age 32, decided not to seek reelection as Mayor, and instead ran for and was elected to the United States House of Representatives for the 2nd district of Massachusetts.  While in the House, he established himself as a left-leaning but by no means radical Democrat.  He frequently worked with Republican and Libertarian representatives, often more than his fellow Democrats.

After serving for six years in the House, Kingston was elected to the United States Senate.  In his short time there, he has established himself as a gifted legislator.

One problem, we already have Kennedy and Kerry mentioned as incumbents. Severeal times. I'd suggest to remove one of the in story now and make you an appointe, if you want to stick with MA.

How about that?

I could move to another state, I suppose...Do you have any Florida incumbents?

Well, Graham was mentioned as MacKay as Chiles successor in 1989.

Which states are you interested?

Well what states are available?

Yup.

Ohio two seats is for grap. So Hawaii, New Hampshire, Utah, Colorado, Wisconsin (Proxmire retired in 1989), old Stennis Seat in MS, Virginia, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Iowa... for examples

We never specified that, but you can assume he's a Democrat.

Junkie: I'll check out.

How about this.  I was never Senator, Dukakis is Governor.

I'm running to replace Dukakis as Governor in 1990, with his support.  I'm a US Representative.

Name: Thad O'Connor
Republican Party - Maine
Congressman ME-02
Age: 32
Religion: Non-denominational Christian

Thad O'Connor was a rather unconventional congressman. Growing up in the Salem Mass, he attended the University of Maine, and after a few years established himself for a congressional bid. Thad O'Connor is somewhat of a maverick, maintaining a very libertarian voting record. Thad gained notoriety when, swearing in in 1988, he showed up blatantly inebriated. Nevertheless, Thad O'Connor remains a diligent legislator.
