Former Lt. Governor of Oklahoma, current Congresswoman from the 5th District, and candidate for Governor next year:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Fallin

I don't think I could vote either way right now. Compared to Virginia Foxx, Jean Schmidt, or Michele Bachmann, she seems like a very sweet lady (not that that's hard, but still). I'm sure I wouldn't agree with her on everything (in fact, I know I don't), but from the times I've seen her on TV, I think I'd be able to agree to disagree with her fairly well.
Plus, she shares my first name, so she can't be all that bad lol.

Not as great as Schimdt or Bachmann, but still really good. She's better then Foxx.

Good point. I'm not always that crazy about Mary Landrieu, and she shares my first name and my party. Still, both earn brownie points for that from me. Tongue I don't see enough Marys in Congress. Wink

FF.  BTW, She is no longer Mary Fallin.  She got married today to Oklahoma City City Attorney Wade Christensen!!  Dunno if she's going to keep the name Fallin, though.

Anyway, its too bad she'll be out of politics come January 13, 2011, as she will lose ever-so-narrowly to Lt. Governor Jari Askins (D).

Without knowing anything about her, I would vote HP by virtue of being a Republican in Oklahoma.

What difference does that make?

Everyone in the OKGOP is completely off their rocker (same is true of the OK Democrats, really).

The wikipedia article didn't give any specific positions, but I can't think of any GOP politicians from OK who aren't completely nuts.

I will say though that for someone who is a Republican in Oklahoma, she is an extremely nice lady.  She has horrible policy positions but at least she isn't assholish about them like alot of Okie Republicans are (don't get me started on Sally Kern).
As one of her constituents though..........nah still HP (politically speaking).

Oklahoma will get what it deserves with her.

Which would be a very good governor.  Same goes for Lt Gov Askins if she wins.  Even if Atty Gen Drew Edmondson wins, he'd still be a great governor.  This is the first election that I can honestly say I like all three of our major gubernatorial candidates.
