Bush Holds Narrow Lead In CBS Poll

Here are the "guts"

As Campaign 2004 heads into its final two weeks, Senator John Kerry’s perceived wins over President George W. Bush in the three presidential debates – including the most recent one - have narrowed the Presidential race and underscored the sharp divisions in how voters (who are paying much more attention than usual in Presidential campaigns) see the choices before them.

But the race remains little changed from where it stood before the third debate: today, 47% of likely voters nationwide would choose the Bush-Cheney ticket while 45% back Kerry and running mate Senator John Edwards. This is a large difference from before the debates began, when Bush led by nine points, but not much changed from last week.

etc.....

CBS must not like either candidate.  The favorable ratings of Bush and Kerry are both terrible.

Vorlon, did you notice the differences between the CBS and ABC job approval numbers?  ABC has it 53% while CBS has it at 43%.  Ten points is quite a lot.  Also, Kerry just can get past the middle forties.

The CBS value is, I believe, among all "adults" (not even Registered) while ABC, for example, LVs

Just read an academic journal article that said weekend or weekday doesn't matter for accuracy of a poll. What did seem to matter was how close to the last day the poll was taken. But it was not a linear relationship and it didn't matter in 2000. I think with this race it may not matter either.

My guess they are both off by 5.  Most polls have had Bush's approval in the upper 40's

Any idea why they're still polling Nader?

I haven't seen any news out of him in months.  Strange that he's still polled but almost never Badnarik.
