Hey Keystone Phil, who is the guy on the right in your signature?

Senator Elect John Thune of South Dakota - My soon to be second favorite U.S. Senator. He defeated Minority leader Tom Daschle last Tuesday.

Bredesen is a fine governor but not really much of a Democrat. He's a Tennessean who was mayor of a Democratic city a had to be a Democrat because his base is. He is an able manager and has done a good job protecting and enhancing public schools. He avoids any discussion of abortion, gay rights, etc. Which is smartfor Tennessee, I guess, but I think he'd be a tough sell in the blue states.

He is affable but boring; I cannot see him generating much enthusiasm on a national level. He could be a great middle of the road manager, but a lousy candidate.

that sounds kind of like Clinton actually, he could be far more liberal in a campaign or as president. of course Clinton apparentely had much more charisma.

I have one thing to say. George Voinovich as either Presidential or Vice Presidential Nominee. This is his voting record here:
http://www.ontheissues.org/Senate/George_Voinovich.htm

He seems to be Conservative enough to please the Right while appealing to the Moderates he could also help carry Ohio and he is loved in the Cleveland area.

Just repeal the 22nd, since it's a piece of trash anyway. Then just reelect Bush until he dies.

You know tommorow ads will be run in California urging Congress to allow foreign born Americans to run for president.

If this works than it could be interesting in 2008.

I thought it takes a consitutional amendment? And wouldn't it take years to pass all the states?

Congress would have to start the process by passing an ammendment and sending it to the states.  Once the states get it they can act immediately or spend years, decades or even centuries to pass it depending on whether or not the ammendemnt has a time limit.

But usually it takes 1-2.5 years.

The 27th Amendment took 202 years to ratify...

Not typical. Also it was a batch of states at one point, than another batch 200 years later. Some, myself included, feel this ratification may not have been strictly constitutional, though there is now a set precedent.

Ah those third-grade days when there was no mention of Obama, Romney was yet to be "pro-life", and Mark Warner and John Edwards were serious Democratic candidates.

As I recall, you were 12 as of 2009.
