In an interview at the Panetta Institute for Public Policy, Arnold stated the following:

"I said to the president I'm perfectly willing to go to Ohio if he needs me there but I can't travel around from state to state because I'm working for the people of California," he said. [/b]

What impact would Arnold have in the state of Ohio?

I'm not sure that celebrity Californians is what Bush needs in Ohio.

He should line up some spokesmen of the patriotic working class: union officials, police and military officers.

Maybe if Arnold took off his shirt and showed some biceps....

I heard he was going to Ohio. I don't know. I sense an anti-incumbent mood there, which prevents many of the state's prominent GOPers from hitting the campaign trail. The governor is an example. He got re-elected because his opponent was an ultra liberal on social issues. That doesn't fly in Ohio and since Kerry is perceived as being well left of the average person in Ohio on these issues, it may dampen the anti-incumbent mood.

Zell Miller would ge a good one to visit there. For the GOP, probably McCain.
