Gee, I wonder who those undecided black voters are going to end up supporting.

A few months ago, Strickland was unbeatable. Now he is significantly trailing a has been. Things are changing so fast! Kasich is a good Republican, but Strickland is a good moderate Democrat. I'm undecided on this race.

A 9 point lead seems a bit overwhelming, even if the Republicans are ahead on this one.

I find it odd that Strickland has supposedly fallen this far this fast. I think I'll wait to see what other polls say before deciding on the state of the race. Also, JohnnyLongtorso is correct that Strickland will obviously ultimately do better than 71% of the black vote.

What percentage of the black vote did he get when he ran against Blackwell?

77%, according to CNN's exit poll. He also got 58% of the white vote. I'm not sure how accurate this is.

Strickland's unpopular and would probably lose to a strong Republican candidate, but not Kasich.  Kasich isn't as strong as people think, and the Democrats have essentially reached rock bottom right now.  We should have a better idea of what the situation is really like here (and in many other races) during the summer.
