What a difference nine months makes.  This one was too good to just place in the Obama approval ratings thread.

Also, if you look at the crosstabs from the November poll when his favorable rating was 51/45 and his approval rating 48/51, the drop in his favorable and approval rating is not due to a drop among Democrats as 89% of them still had a favorable opinion of him but 48% of indies did not while 48% did.

We have just had some ugly politics surrounding the health-care debate. We have seen some vicious street theater in teabag rallies. The President had been without a legislative victory for a couple months; now he has one. As the old saying goes, victory has hundreds of fathers; defeat is an orphan.

The GOP gambled and lost, badly.  So it felt good for a time? That's how gambling is if one loses. Casino gambling is for suckers; the House knows how to make people feel good while losing. Once the loser leaves the casino, the House doesn't give a damn about how the loser feels, The House has the money, and it is happy.
