This is not a whim. If it was I'd be out the door already.

You have no rational reason to go out. The sooner you realize that, the better it will be for us all.

I've also decided that as this is my outgoing election, I will be casting a ballot.

And thank you for taking that responsibility so seriously Teddy. Your contributions to the Department of Forum Affairs are vast and will be a boon to the game for years to come.

I'm still trying to see if there is any way I can both quit and remain. If my deputy proves able and skilled, I may either switch with him or, work with him so we are, in a way, co-SoFE, and he can contact me whenever something needs my attention, but, otherwise, I'd not be on the forum.

I'd, in short, come in at the proper time, post the ballots, count them, rule on anything that needs ruling, but otherwise, not be an active member.

I've heard some people think some new posters around here are my socks. Just to clear up: I am not banned from the atlas, nor was I "forced out" I quit in my own accord. Thus, if I ever want to return, I will use this account. I have no need to sock and thus nobody is my sock. Thank you.

Perhaps the Imperial Domain of the South should consider reinstating the Anti-Necromancy Initiative. Wink

TODAY'S NEWS

Wormy suspected of encouraging vote deletion.
An investigation by the Attorney General has suggested that wormyguy may have sent a "request" that GPorter delete an already cast ballot, with the rationale being that right wing parties "owed" wormy for past transgressions. TPTTAA will continue to follow this issue.

Government slowly progresses on No-Fly zone.
After statements by government officials in support of a no-fly zone in Libya, the government is awaiting action from the Senate to allow Atlasia to participate. This has created a minor rift between the Senate and the Administration, not because of any disagreement on policy, but a disagreement on responsibility for taking charge of the initiative.

Midwest legislature approved salut act.
The new Saluting Ilikeverin Act has passed the legislature of the Midwest without any opposition. The most controversial part of the act was a section to replace a 5 with a 6 and a 6 with a 5. This amendment also passed and will now be a part of the new act.

Southeast assembly election rolls on.
Sanchez released a statement extolling his libertarian values earlier today, and currently leads gporter in early counts, while Yelnoc and tb75 appear to be heading towards re-election. A referendum is being held simultaneously that would allow greater public input into lawmaking.

Teddy returns from the dead.
Under a slightly modified username, Teddy has returned from the dead. He has stated that he will run a daily news service in his newspaper TPTTAA, and hopes to revolutionize the media industry across the country.

INTERVIEW -- FRANZL

TPTTAA:

Franzl, Welcome.

I'd like to cut to the chase. When old Teddy "died", the office of SoFE was left in a vulnerable position. I see that you are the new SoFE. Following Teddy's "death", how did you come to become SoFE?

Franzl:

Acting President Kalwejt asked me whether I'd be willing to accept the position. I told him I would only be doing it for a limited time but then actually did decide to stay on when President Tmthforu took over.

TPTTAA:

Sounds like an interesting time for Atlasia. You were a proficient SoFE. I know you also spent a term as a Senator. What other positions have you held in Atlasia?

Franzl:

Well let's see...

Started out as a member of the Mideast Assembly and was Speaker of that body for a while.

Attorney General

Secretary of Forum Affairs (Secretary of Federal Elections after the DoFA was split up)

and yeah, a few terms in the Senate with a break in between.

TPTTAA:

Are there other positions you might be interested in holding in the future, such as President, another cabinet post perhaps, or even returning to Regional government?

Franzl:

At the present time, I'm not interested in any position I haven't already held at one point.

Let's put it that way Smiley

TPTTAA:

Is SoFE/A your favourite job, or is there another?

Franzl:

I wouldn't say that. Legislating is the most fun I've had in Atlasia, but I recognize the importance of having someone that has a certain level of experience and competence for Atlasia.

I'm happy to serve Atlasians in this capacity

TPTTAA:

What specifically about being a legislator did you enjoy the most? Are there any bills you are particularly proud of?

Franzl:

I am particularly proud of being a member of the Senate when universal healthcare was passed (and equally proud of helping to kill single payer).

I'm proud of keeping Atlasia from entering the car making business.

There are a good deal of things like investments in education and energy that I'm happy we did.

TPTTAA:

Is there any legislation that you were not able to get passed that you wished had been?

Franzl:

Can't think of anything in particular, to be honest.

TPTTAA:

Thank you for your time.

19 MARCH 2011

Wormyguy case continues as he retires.
An exciting scene today in court, where judge Sam Spade called a sitting Senator an idiot. When called out by that Senator, Shua, Spade responded by outlining that only an idiot would take the actions that the Senator did. He also decided to throw the case out.

Wormyguy meanwhile has decided to retire from Atlasia. Many observers stated alternately that they were happy that he had decided to retire, and that they expected his return in short order.

Social Security Reform slowly moves forward.
The Comprehensive Social Security Reform Act continues to be debated in the Senate, as it continues to slowly progress though that chamber. The current issue is commute time, with Senator Shua stating that a 120 minute commute is excessive. Public Transit agencies are known for designing for a 90 minute commute, and TPTTAA believes that the Senator has a valid point.

Pacific region down to a single legislator.
With Mr. Fuzzleton's resignation, the Pacific council now only has a single member. There is as of yet no news on how that will effect the operation of that chamber.

What a wonderful idea that clearly turned out to be.
