Yes, I used a typewriter. One year we got a word processor for a gift and it was pretty cool- a big step up.
My big mistake was blowing off typing class in High School. I never had a computer growing up so when I went to College I was pretty ed when it came to writing a 20 page paper. I often found myself in the position of writing out my paper and paying my roomates to type it out. I even bought one of those speaking/typing programs to try to get around my handicap.
