2) The premiums for individuals will, of course, be much higher than those obtained to through employers - that's the reason why I referred to it as a stealth tax.  I disagree that emergency rooms will see less action - go see what happened in Massachusetts under Romney's plan.

Somehow, I feel that while designing this whole thing, no one seriously looked at how miserable the Massachusetts plan is. Only Democrats think it's working (a majority of Republicans and Independents think it's not). That doesn't bode well for what the national opinion of the Massachusetts model would be.

I don't know why Democrats here are so excited about this.  You wanted health care reform.  Instead, you got an abomination that won't do a damn thing but cost you more money.  Congratulations...?
