This is for Atlasia Universe Americana writers and readers to post their thoughts on the timeline so comments will take up less space so we have more room devoted to story in the main thread.

Excuse my ignorance guys but what's the current state of the game. Is anything else currently ongoing despite the bickering about this proposed health care bill? Anyway, this is Senator Patrick Rutherford reporting for duty.

Well with my character out of office there is a ton of drama going on with him, both family and legal (Tom is about to make a post about that, don't worry I approved). I introduced a very dark element to the story that me and Kalwejt have been building off that relates to both of our characters. Pretty much I'm mostly focusing on character development instead of politics right now, if you want political info ask someone else. Although I did make an entry about my character's position on healthcare that you would find most interesting.
Also thanks alot for joining, I feel like since my character left office I have kind of disappointed the readers of more legislative entries and focused too much on personal stories. I hope that's not really the case.
Do not despair though, Scott Westman will be back, it may take a few years but he'll be back. I say the earliest expect him to run for public office in 1994. I chose to stay out of office so I could take a more relaxed approach to the story (and also so I can devote more time to studying next semester).

Question for Kalwejt: When exactly did the Dent-Kennedy bill of 1985 pass? I have it down as May 12th right now on my latest entry, but I believe that since you made up the event in the first place you should have the right to decide.

In the story, I am Senator Benson Rockefeller.  As I stated some time ago, I married Diane Rutherford, the publishing heiress.

In this story, are you some relation to my wife or is this a coincidence?

What state and what party do you represent?

Shear coincidence Winfield, shear coincidence. I only selected it because it sounded well with the first name Patrick.

What state and what party do you represent?

The state of Washington and the Democratic Party. Socially I would easily fit into the Libertarians, but my economic views would cause me to become the "Jan Brady" of the organisation.

Did Winston actually say he signed the bill? We probably need to ask him, he's still in this story.

Fine, you going to attack everything I write.

I stated it was passed due to compromise between Dems and Libs, and D'Israeli get a part of his agenda passed too. I never decided for another player before and after. I guess that's fine enough.

Question: When is the White House starting to announce the legislative program? It’s hard to attack (or support) the administration when you don’t know the legislative program.

It would be much more fun when the White House would support some legislation…like a Balanced Budget Amendment, School Prayer Amendment, Free Trade Agreement with Canada, Mexico or any other state, Social Security privatization. I just want to see some action.

Balanced Budget Amendment: Neutral. I support a balanced budget whenever possible, but I'm wary of an amendment forcing it.
School prayer: Teachers shouldn't be forced to lead prayers against their will, nor should they be punished if they do choose to hold one. However, I really think that it should be left to the individual--if they choose or choose not to pray, it is their decision and it ought to be respected.
