I think Reagan probably would've blown him out of the water. Gravel was never the most stable looking guy. Reagan had all that charisma, and it just wouldn't be pretty. Gravel is not helped because of the poor runningmate choice.

Yeah GPORTER, it's not like the Republicans were really well loved in 1976. I'm not saying Gravel would win, but 50 states? Jesus.

Now that DOESN'T happen. Though Reagan would win pretty well, I don't think Gravel would go down without a fight.

He might win 10-12 states.
