Quickly becoming one of my favorites, actually. Iowa should be very proud of him.

I was reading the wikipedia article, and this guy is amazing.  Except for guns and the fairness doctrine, he's absolutely awesome.

No surprises there.

On the other hand, his record on civil liberties besides guns is excellent and SANE gave him a 100%. Obviously he has some redeeming qualities for a mainstream 'liberal' Democrat. I'm voting neutral here for now.

I was aware of the Iraq War vote although he's voted for redeploying troops out the last 3 years or so. I lean HP now though, most of the info I saw before implied he at least favored decriminalization.

So he's another opportunist hack in the vein of HRC and the rest of the "I would never have voted for the war had we known it would become unpopular" Dems.

Why do you guys expect a 70 year old to have the drug mentality of a 20 year old?

No, I'm a little more accommodating than that. I just found his reply hilarious. Keep in mind you're talking to someone that hangs around a lot of people either in narcotics/police or studying to be.

Oh, I can assure you that there are quite a lot of stupid advocates of drug legalization.

FF, I have always been a fan.

I can't remember offhand...was he in the 1988 or 1992 pool of Presidential hopefuls?  Either way, I didn't support him because I preferred Simon and Tsongas respectively.  But a very good guy.  Seems like a nice, personable fellow too...
