No sneaking up if you live here. Now that the holidays are over the mailbox is filling up with political literature and robocalls from candidates occur a few times a day. TV and radio ads are hitting the major markets, too.

Interesting. My mom and grandpa live in Madison County (where I'm also registered to vote), and they say they've heard almost nothing about the election. Not on TV, and no campaign calls or literature.

Well it's a week later, and they should have heard something by now. In Chicagoland the TV and radio are full of ads as is my mailbox.

One thing to note is that the September dates aren't necessarily official.  September primary states technically need a waiver from the federal government.  The period before an election for sending out military absentees is longer under a new law, and the September states may not meet it due to their certification deadlines.  The law provides for a waiver which should be automatically granted (in theory) - but it still has to be applied for.

Last I checked, the New York State Board of Elections has not published its official 2010 political calendar, perhaps for that reason.

I'm pretty sure that's a typo, and it should say "July 27".

Yeah, oversight on my part.  I skimmed it looking for the next primary and didn't look at the chronological ordering.  Wasn't going for a gotcha moment.

We're pretty nerdy on this site, I don't feel like we'd miss a primary, even in Oklahoma haha
