I beleive Tmth had an amendment that he introduced. If he could reintroduce it, I will accept it as friendly if the GM supports it, which I think he did.

I did. If I recall correctly, it expanded the list to include Governors on a need-to-know basis.

I would like to propose an amendment to this bill...

Basically, this will allow the Game Moderator to include Governors, at their discretion.

With the support of the GM then I will accept this amendment as friendly.

Debate Continues....

I move to amend the bill as noted above for reasons stated during the last session, with the additional realization that all former officers entrusted with such materials--not just jurors--should remain bound by the act after leaving office.

Two thoughts on the bill.

The crime for revealing classified information without authorization should require proof of "knowingly" having done so. I don't like the idea of prosecuting someone for inadvertently including top secret stuff when cutting and pasting a PM or accidentally hitting the Post key. This offense should be reserved for those who intentionally leak privileged info.

Would jurors, counsel and judges exposed to secret materials be prohibited under this act from revealing said materials after the trial? Sort of like a permanent gag order? If so, that should be made more specific in the language.

Once again, if the GM approves I will accept this as friendly.

Senators also have about 12 hrs and 40 minutes to object to Tmth's amendment being acceptaed as friendly.

Why not? Atleast it will give the Senate something to do. Tongue

Damn.

Anyways, as I said when the bill was last introduced I'm not a huge fan of it. Yes its game play, but I don't like 'secret squirrel' stuff; makes it look as if this game is taken more seriously than it should be Smiley I'm not in the mood to object to the bill during the drafting process however.

Warning: GM related Rant coming
I feel sorry for Purple State. You know you guys really make the GM's job a living hell. Tongue He can't have any fun. Sometimes you need that to spice the game up. Revolutions in New Mexico, bad.  Top Secret information, bad. Lots of boring statistics and foriegn affairs, sure no problem. Thats why, I never want to be GM and very few others do either.

Haha, you should see some of the proposals I filter out and don't accept. Tongue

Anyway, I have no problem with Badger's proposed amendments.

This bill tickles my fancy somewhat; I won't lie. There's nothing, sometimes, more fun than a bit of secret information handed out to a select few, and it is even more fun when it leaks out because of the ensuing hunt to find the leak.

I will say I have no objections to either amendment or to the bill entirely. How exciting! Tongue

I don't understand this bill : does it also concern real data, or just fantasy data ?

I have no access to real world top secret or classified data, nor would I be sharing it on a forum if I did. This is all fantasy data, made up by the GM to advance the game, as is all information from my office.

You misunderstood my point. By "real data" I meant stuff like IP Adresses, secret deals between parties/members, etc...

No, this is only fantasy information to advance the story behind the game.

I'm kind of surprised Purple State doesn't know anything top secret about the US Government. What kind of game moderator is he? Tongue

I am going to go ahead an open a final vote on this. I am not sure if I am reading the OSPR right though. Senators please vote AYE, NAY or ABSTAIN.
