I'm interested to hear some predictions for this year on the deficit.

What do you mean ?

The deficit for the fiscal year 2009/10 or 2010/11 ?
Or the total deficit of the US on that date ?
Or the deficit for the month of December 2010 ?

3 wild guesses out of nowhere:

A) around 1.3 Trillion $ for fiscal 2009/10 and 800 Bio. $ for 2010/11
B) around 13 Trillion $
C) around 100 Bio. $

The deficit in 2011 will be smaller if for no other reason then the Bush tax cuts expiring.

He's asking about the deficit in 2010, not 2011.

I'm specifically looking for A and B.  I'm not as interested in month-by month numbers as I am longer-term figures such as fiscal year by fiscal year and total deficit.

The main reason behind the thread, will we be better off or worse off in 11 1/2 months from now?

Well, if we're talking about 2010, it's not going to be pretty between a recession, 2 wars, and the Bush tax cuts at their maximum.
