opebo is actually a pretty standard liberal now. Libertas would vote for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad over Obama.

I think someone who is along the lines of a down the line socialist who sees a rather large share of the human experience through the prism of class, and quite loathes the United States, on the one hand, and a libertarian who is against the government levying taxes, on the other, are both way out of the mainstream, and I am disinclined to try to characterize just who is farther out on the tail of the bell curve myself.

Does opebo still support NAMBLA or was he just trolling?

Libertas, but that's mostly a good thing, though I don't have much problems with opebo either.

Myself, definitely.  Most of the great right-wing bootlicking deluded mass believes various libertarian nonsense.

Libertas appears to be just a confused kid, who don't know much about a world, but desperately want to be taken seriously.

I voted for you, and this is kind of what I had in mind. I just thought there are more hacks than Opebos. I actually don't mind most Libertarians. Some really do get on my nerves, though.

Opebo is a parody of a bolshevik rentier (the latter being more important than the former). If there is any crowd which suits him it would be say, 20s Hollywood.

Libertas is the ironic creation of US government Anti-Communist propaganda (which played a major role in inventing modern US 'conservatism'), traditionalist populist paranoia about central authority and a bizarre modernist traditionalism (if that makes sense). The 'markets' stuff is a shiny polish on all that.

Opebo is probably less of the mainstream because his 'tradition' is always going to be demographically smaller.

Gully Foyle's right.  Libertas strikes me as a latter-day John Bircher with a shiny new paint job.

I'm not really sure how a Nader supporter is a 'latter day bircher'...
