I hardly ever sit down just to watch it, but I like to keep it on for background noise. There is something about constant silence that drives me batty. Most of the time, I have either the news or CNBC on.

Rarely, though I do enjoy watching the daily show on the internet.

I also rarely sit and watch it. I use to start it around 6pm on which I put it on 'C dans l'air', for French, a daily talk-show of 1 hour about one topic which is in the news or the air of the time, and it is in the background while I'm on computer, watching it more carefully while eating during evening talk shows and/or evening news, I sit to watch films most of time, otherwise it is tuned on news/talk-shows/magazines. Other than that I use to be only on computer during the day, not even radio, or very rarely, music from the computer sometimes but not all the time.

Yes, but rarely.  I have it off most of the day, but on much of the night.  I've never really liked sleeping in pitch darkness.

Effectively Never. Unless TV-on-the-Internet counts.

Oh, and the odd Football game and Movie (and the very occasional episode of Law & Order).

I watch movies and Thalassa, a French show on TV5. The news are boring and depressing, and they all lack journalists anyway.

I've gotten too used to TV shows on DVD. Being able to watch at any time and without commercials has kind of spoiled me and I can't really follow current serieses anymore. I watch Family Guy and The Daily Show still, but for other shows I like like Weeds and Burn Notice I just wait for the DVD and effectively am one season behind.

It's the background noise of my life.  I very rarely sit down and do nothing but watch TV.  Important sporting events for one of the teams I support is about the only reason I'd do that.

Alright, I'm not afraid to admit it -- yes, I watch TV. A lot of it. I love it -- Discovery Channel, History Channel, Science Channel, National Geographic, a little bit of Comedy Central and the networks, and news when I haven't already had my fill of reading it on the 'net. I get a lot of enjoyment from watching television.

I leave a dim light on. I presume that that would work better than a flickering light.

or let the stores/shutters open, and deal with the light of the moon, I like it, plus you can awake with the light of the sun too.

I haven't watched Family Guy in years and I only watch South Park on my computer (and I haven't watched that in a while either). My current apartment doesn't have cable.

I watch them on the Internet. I don't have a TV.
