Obviously.  I don't discuss politics outside here though, so it's totally irrelevant.

Of course I do. Some range from far-left kooks to far-right nuts. One of my friends "found" Jesus over the summer, and went from a party hardy guy to some religious nut. It doesn't mean I dislike him now. Things haven't changed between us, except he finds some of my humor crude. Tongue

Yes. I have some friends who dislike Obama for not being far enough left.

You don't?

It's not his fault the Blue Dogs are worthless.

Hell yeah......I'm online friends with nearly everyone with whom I disagree with here.

I won't name the exceptions, even though most of them have blue avatars.

I am friends with people who hold different political views then I do; But most of my friends are Republicans, and to the right of me. I have a friend at school who is a French socialist, however, and he called it back in '07 that Obama would win. I laughed at him.

It would make it harder since it would make their morals different from mine. But if they had something I admired about them then totally.

Yeah, I don't discuss politics with any of my real world friends though. That's what the internet is for.

A gay Republican is a self-loathing Republican, and that's kind of hot

Political positions does not determine who I consider my friends. The beauty with Democracy is that we can have different political views, yet co-exist peacfully.

I rarely discuss politics with my RL friends, so I don't know where most of them stand. Out of them I do know the political positions of it's probably about half of them that support the Axis of Stupidity (aka. the Red-Green coalition)

As for my interweb friends from America there's a pretty even devide between Republicans (including one Indipendant in name only) and Democrats (again including one indipendant in name only)

Grin I think most people would have acted like you. That just proves everything is possible, and it's a great thing.

My best friend at school is a die-hard Harper fan. I think you know how much I despise Harpy, yet we're friends and we can talk politics without coming to punches.

He says I'm a brainwashed Liberal being controlled by a man standing behind the green screen, I say he's a redneck brainwashed Tory being controlled by Hitler.

Of course I would. Some of my best friends are liberals, and others are die hard conservatives. It just means I get to have intersting conversations with them.

Quite a few Republicans/Libertarians in my friend circle.  Then again, I'm almost totally process-oriented when I talk politics, so we can have lengthy chats about the TX Gov race or something without disagreeing about anything.

Yes. Almost all my friends are different from me.

Breakdown of my friends, percentage wise:
20%- Around me, or slightly more liberal. (Basically, crazy left wingers by Texas standards)
35%- Moderates/Libertarian-lite (Lib social, Con econ)
35%- Conservatives
10%- Apolitical

Of course, this isn't exactly the most representative group. Well off suburban Texan group, with only like 1 WASP isn't exactly indicative of the population as a whole.

Also, like half of us are agnostic/atheist.

Here's my breakdown...

65% Conservative
15% Moderate
10% Liberal
10% Libertarian

Most of my friends are not really politically self-aware, though.

Haha three people actually answered no. Guess what guys, no one has exactly the same views as you do. If that's seriously part of your criteria for meeting people get used to being lonely.

No one has exactly the same of course, but plenty might have the same type of general ideology. I mean pick five people at random in my neighborhood, odds are greater than 50/50 that not one voted for McCain. It's also entirely possible that no one in my apartment voted for McCain, there's about 25 people, that means statistically about 15 voted with McCain's numbers in my precinct that equals 1 McCain voter. Not that I know of course the exact number, I only frequently talk to two of the others, but both voted Obama.
