I created a new Diplomacy variant, with maps here:

It is mostly a map variant though. There aren't any major rule changes aside from the presence of bridges, planes, & Sacramento's special condition.

Perhaps "Bay Aperture" should be called "Golden Gate"?

Perhaps "Bay Aperture" should be called "Golden Gate"?

That might be wise given that there are nine other sea spaces that include the word "bay" in their names. Tongue

I hope you don't mind being unable to move in the first two turns, then. Tongue

Impressive map.  If I have the time, I'd love to try the East Bay community, but I'm moving across the country in under two weeks and  I don't think I'll have that time

I see Sacramento's quite the popular power. Tongue

Same as Modern variant, basically. They can move over both provinces & sea spaces (making them a real bane to stalemate lines). They cannot capture supply centers, but they can blockade them, which causes the center to not count towards the supply center count of the power that owns it as long as it is blockaded. I'm unsure of whether planes will be powerful enough, so I may change it so that the power that owns the blockaded center will have to actually re-enter it afterwards to end the blockade.
