Memphis, I think you care a little too much.
I care more about making my point than the actual situation
I've done the form. It takes just a minute. Not that he'll agree to it anyway.

On a full laundry day, I have at least 8-10 loads.
Unless you have about four wardrobes full of clothes, you're wasting a hell of a lot of power and water.
Maybe he just has a very tiny washing machine.
You must not have read my last post. I said I divide my loads into way too many piles.
I admit I have too many clothes, and I usually wear two or three different sets during the work week - work clothes, gym and after-work/at home - but that is two loads MAX and we have a small machine... how the hell do you build up 8-10 loads?
Also... stopping mail for 4 days... what the hell???
I separate way too much such as the dress slacks from dress shirts, the light-colored dress shirts separated from the dark-colored dress shirts. Knit shirts are separated by lights, darks, and reds. Underclothes separated from towels, plus sheets. On a full laundry day, I have 9 loads. Since I don't have any dress clothes or sheets to wash, I may be able to get by with 5 or 6 loads. As far as the time goes, both the washer and dryer take 40 minutes each, and I dry and wash simultaneously to save time.
As far as the mail goes, it's actually 3 days since Saturday is a holiday, but my mail box isn't big enough to hold three days worth of mail. My mailbox is by my door, not at the end of the driveway. I'll pick everything up the next Monday.
Ten don't do that. Mix the stuff together and save about 5 or 6 loads. Another thing you could do is search for jobs on the computer while the stuff is in the washer and dryer.

Uh, wow.
It takes me maybe 10 minutes to pack for a three day vacation. I just throw three days worth of clothes in a suitcase and pack up my deordorant, some soap, shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste and razor in another package. The only reason I usually do it the night before is so I can catch if I forget anything. Even if you do it's not a big deal, there are far worse things than having to buy an extra bottle of shampoo at a convenience store in your destination, assuming where you're staying doesn't provide it anyway. I forgot soap on the way to Dude Fest last time so I got a small bar at a gas station in Illinois. Big deal.
And 8-10 loads of laundry? I should ask my parents how much they did when they had three kids living at home, I doubt they did that much for 5 people. I do one load every week. I basically have exactly a week's worth of clothes. Now I know most people aren't as casual as me, but I simply can not fathom how one person can have 8-10 loads worth unless you only do laundry once a month or something. Even then, you can do other stuff while it washes, especially if you have a house as Bushie does.
Seriously this might be even weirder than dividing your vacation into segments of minutes.

Another thing that contributes to many loads is I limit the load sizes to about 5 prs of jeans, or 6 shirts. If I haven't done laundry in a while, then the loads could have to be split up creating more loads and more time. I do laundry usually once a week, so the loads don't pile up as high and the number of loads is down to about 6. Even further than that, I try to do a load of laundry every other night or so, reducing the amount of time I have to spend on laundry during the weekend.
As far as the job search, I am not completely sitting on the sidelines right now. While I am not hitting the pavement, I am looking online to see what's out there. I haven't applied to anything, mainly due to being very cautious about what I get myself into, but I am looking. I'm spending about 2 or 3 hours a day searching.
As far as the cleaning goes, I've got one room cleaned and may start on another room before bed time. Then, I hope to finish that room in the morning and then clean the other room I want to focus on by tomorrow evening.
If I can accomplish these last two rooms, then I can focus all day Friday on laundry, tidying up, and start planning my sermons for January. I'm preaching every Sunday night from January 9 - April 15, except for February 27. I'm also giving a very quick 10-15 minute devotion at the New Year's Eve party, so I need to start getting ready for that. Most of the sermon preparation will wait until after I come back, though. This will be just the preliminary preparation.
After all the hype, I probably won't get the suitcase out until either Saturday morning, or maybe even wait until Monday morning. I'll probably pack most of the way on Monday and then focus on the carry-on bag for an hour or two Tuesday and tie up any loose ends.
So, to break it all down as simply as I can, here is each day's main goal:
Thursday, December 16 - Cleaning
Friday, December 17 - Laundry
Saturday, December 18 - College Football
Sunday, December 19 - Church and Ornament Exchange
Monday, December 20 - Packing
Tuesday, December 21 - Odds and Ends - College Football in the Evening
Wednesday, December 22 - Toiletry Bag, Christmas Candlelight Service, and College Football in the Evening
Mind you, Thursday, Friday, and Monday will include about 90 minutes of job searching.
After I return, i will increase the job search to about 3 hours a day Monday-Thursday. Then, starting January 2 I will get the Sunday Paper out and go through that with fine-toothed comb. January 3, I will increase my job search from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday-Thursday and 8:00 am - 2:30 pm Friday.

Cheers! I also have an idea: Instead of posting 8 paragraphs on the intricacies of your packing and laundry routine, try actually going out and doing it. You are spending more time planning and writing about your trip to FLA than you will actually be there. I realize that this is part of who you are, but you are taking it to ridiculous heights and at this point I think you are just doing this to play up your forum persona.

How much time have you wasted posting extremely unnecessary posts detailing your extremely unnecessary bullsh
i
t since you lost your job? It's been a week and like 15 pages of excuses. Use the pointless time you spend here to get out there and actually try to get an actual job. Googling crap and browsing Monster is a first class ticket to scam city, go around with a printed resume and personally inquire about openings. I don't know how you haven't figured out that the internet has done nothing but make a bad situation worse by this point. Writing novels to complete strangers about the contrived nonsense that consumes your everyday life is making absolutely no difference in how bleak it has become. Get off your ass and do something, man. And get a freakin grip, stop thinking so damn much about what to do and just do it.

I actually found Sprint through Career Builder, but yeah, generally you're right. I'm just looking on there now to give me ideas. Once January hits, I'll be hitting the streets.

Come on, guys, you all are acting like January is such a long way off. It's not. Two and a half weeks is not going to make that much difference in the grand scheme of things, especially when there are two major holiday weekends in the middle of it.
I know what I'm doing, and I'm confident in my abilities and I know what I need to do when the time comes.
I'm not naive like a lot of people think I am. I am very much aware of my surroundings and what's going on around me. I just know the employers in Oklahoma are not thinking about hiring this time of year. Christmas parties and vacations and year-end business crunches are taking priority. If I wanted to work as seasonal help, I would have been looking back in November, but it's too close to Christmas now.
I've got a bunch of places that I'm going to hit up the first week of 2011. I've been making a big list.

Well now that you are out of work i'm sure (or at least hope) you are trying to budget yourself a bit, save money here, save money there, etc. So here is an idea of how to save some water and energy costs. When you do wash don't separate it into every last possible thing. Put shirts and jeans into the same load. Actually fill your washer when you do loads, and not put just a few things in it. It will save energy and water (which will save you $$$) and will also save time. What a concept.....

Yes, I am definitely budgeting right now. Those are good ideas, and I will try those out Friday.
When I start looking for a job full-time, I'll take just about anything, but I won't hop on the first boat that comes along. I will need to make sure and do my research and my homework lest I fall into another scam. This forum has been wonderful about raising the red flags on scams, so I will be employing your help when something does come along.
I do want to clarify a statement I've made many times in the past several pages. I said I was going to start looking full-time for full-time work on January 3. That remains true, but I will be devoting about 3 or 4 hours a day through the week of December 27-30 to the job search, as well. I'll look up until about Noon or 1:00 each of those four days. I'm not going to worry about New Year's Eve since that is New Year's Day observed for most places. Starting January 3, I will devote at least 7-8 hours a day Monday-Thursday and 6-7 hours on Friday and about 90 minutes on Sunday to comb through the classifieds. So, really my full-time job search will begin on January 2.

You don't have to worry about scams if you GO TO businesses and apply like you should.

All of these set schedules are becoming a bit unsettling. Am I the only one that feels this way?

Especially in what he is looking for. Depending on what you are looking for that can be tough. For example I have been working part time since I was laid off last year and I'm looking for work. However, I was in the financial industry in Manhattan where every building has security, and you can't exactly go right up to an HR Dept because of that, However, in Oklahoma and the type of work Bushie would pursue you could go right up to a Businesses. Either that or at least he could go to an actual company's website (and not some fake or pyramid scheme company) and apply through there.

I'm going to do a mixture of everything - door-to-door, internet, classifieds, etc.
The first place I'm going to go on the morning of January 3 is Wal-Mart. That may be a job for teenagers, but it's a job and it would help pay the bills.
Plus, Wal-Mart is only a mile from my house.

Of course, but I'm assuming he's not looking for a job at that level at this point. Wal-Mart is exactly what I would hope and expect.
