Well, its definitely not Bushie's son...or is it?

Nah, the son was never an important character, rather a symbol for man's desperation and the ultimately unachieveable pursuit of the perfect family.

It's still rather frustrating when you consider how many people with far better work histories than Jeff have to spend months or years unemployed before they finally get an offer.

Life is not fair.

I love how Bushie calls it 'the bipolar'.

It's a different actor this time, of course, though child characters often go through about three or four different people portraying them.  And I wonder if in this case, Tiffynieye's son has aged like seven years when only two have elapsed.  It's always amusing when shows do that.

Bipolar as a "disability" is horsecrap. Take some Depakote and get a damn job.

I hate to say this, Bushie, but potential employers will usually do some background check on you, especially on facebook and other places in the internet.

Please consider this.

Please, Kal, stop.  He's starting with Dell on May 9, 16, 23rd or 30th.  Not necessarily in 2011 but you get the point.  Now please get with the program.  Tongue

Odds he and Tiffanye get reengaged are higher than him ever working at Dell. Mark it down.

While I firmly believe Dell will eventually come around and give me a start date, I'm not going to wait around for a month or two.  I've restarted the job search, because I need to get some money coming in as soon as possible, and I can't afford to wait until June or July.  I want to get my mother retired by the end of 2011, so I've got to get a job and get some paychecks quickly.

Yeah, what's strange is that we seem to have forgotten he's still jobless! Why can't you call and ask Dell what the hold up is? Are you actually employed there? I've never heard of a company hire someone and then make them wait months before they start without specifically telling them that.

I did get f***ed around - but it was partly my fault too.

I got offered a job in the Immigration dept here, I was told the start would be in mid-March, this was mid-Feb. I resigned gave two weeks notice, and liked the idea of having a fortnight's holiday. Buut, the start date got pushed out... to late March, to April 10, to when I eventually started on May 1... it was a PAIN... but I shouldn't have resigned until I had a date on paper.

So it CAN happen.

But since this is Bushie...

I wonder if Bushie realizes how easy it is to find this forum and by extension, this thread, from Facebook (it doesn't exactly hurt with all the gobs of personal information he freely gives out.) Only about two years ago I found out someone on this forum was digging up relatively mundane posts I made on another forum before even registering on this one (I won't say who it was besides that it wasn't one of the "usual suspects" and they haven't posted in a very long time and won't be known by the non-longtimers.

I call my liason once a week, and she gets in touch with Dell once a week, usually on Thursday.  There is a chance she could hear something today, but I've learned not to hold my breath.  She did tell me, though, that she has had someone wait as long as six weeks before they actually started, and I have waited 4 weeks, so far.  Still, though, I'm doing the smart thing and continuing to look around.

Yeah, especially with Tiffanye back in your life! You need stable employment ASAP!

It's been since the end of February when I was with Convergys, and that was only $9.00 an hour.  A real decent paycheck was last seen last November with Sprint.

Sprint was all the way back in November? Seems like just yesterday.

The Onion sums up this thread yet again.

Who else bets that Dell's HR reps HAVE read this thread and that's exactly why he hasn't got his job?

Or, since he can't delete Rainbow Play Systems, called them for a reference?

I do have a meeting tomorrow at 1:30 with a staffing company called "The Addison Group" in NW Oklahoma City.  I am applying for nearly the same kind of position that I applied for with Dell, except with less phone work, but with the same pay rate.

A nationally accredited temp agency with a legitimate website?  I can't wait to see what magic bean salesman our hero meets along the way to this place that leads to him canceling his appointment.
