Yet another post which proves the idiocy of Marc Ambinder.

Yet another post which proves the idiocy of Marc Ambinder.

I actually am a bit [relatively] fascinated  by this dark horse prediction, more that DeMint part than the Paul part...those libertarian movement people who love DeMint will work for him regardless...but DeMint is building a movement and a niche against the establishment, and if Huckabee takes a pass, he could get a lot of delegates in the South

it's an interesting possibility at least, I'd say.

I was watching the health care summit closely looking for any future candidates.

Eric Cantor is a well adjusted Rep. from Virginia who would make a possible V.P. choice. Young energy with experience in the party. He has consistently stood up to Obama and handled himself well.

Perhaps a Rick Perry/Eric Cantor ticket may be interesting.

What is Cantor's stance on Israel and the Middle East?

Republican Jew.

I think there's only one in all of Washington [elected], and only one in a governor's mansion (retiring this year and in some island state that just got hit by a tsunami)...so it shouldn't be hard to keep track of Jewish Republicans or anything...

I know of one in prison (convicted) -- Jack Abramoff.

Huh?  What do yo mean when you say "one?"

That's the one Jewish Republican political operative that I know of convicted for misdeeds related to his political activities.

I do not know what political affiliations Andy Fastow  (Enrob Corporation) or his wife had, but their felony convictions had nothing to do with political corruption.

So you're just naming random Jews in prison now?  Classy.

Eric Cantor needs to be elected to the Senate or the Virginia Governorship, or get a very responsible cabinet post  before he can be seen as a possible Presidential candidate, Such is the iron rule.

Rick Perry is too batty to be a viable Presidential candidate.

Could Cantor be a viable candidate against Jim Webb when he is up for re-election in 2012?

Cantor is certainly young enough to wait a couple of years.

DeMint has quite a bit of social conservative craziness baggage, but he does have a pretty solid record on fiscal issues as far as I recall. Could certainly beat Obama in 2012.

Why do so many "libertarians" choose to completely disregard social issues? This is why I'm glad we have Einzige around here.

Republicans are at the helm of the sinking ship that is SC.     The other candidates would have a field day with DeMint and his record.
