Well, the world's biggest music poll is going well so far (at song 70). Three of my favourite songs are in, so on track for all ten (maybe). The 70s and 80s were a little bit weak, but no really awful songs in there Smiley

Bit over halfway, got 4/10 in. We'll see how the rest of my top ten go. I'm hopeful for Hockey - Too Late, N.E.R.D. - Sooner Or Later and FOTC - Hurt Feelings; pretty sure Phrase ft. Jackson Jackson - Paradise has no chance, and not sure about Royksopp ft. Robin - The Girl and the Robot and Little Birdy - Hairdo.

Wish I followed triple J a little more, I could have actually voted this year. As I stated in the other thread I was very pleased to hear Animal Collective make the cut, I had no idea that song was even being played on the radio as I just discovered it a couple of days ago. I look forward to seeing the top of the list.

well, the number one was already leaked, so number two is the real contest. I'm predicting Art Vs. Science, Parlez Vous Francais?. Also, the list has been a bit meh this year.

which just leaves one. They haven't announced it yet, but it'll be no surprise; Mumford and Sons: Little Lion Man. Also, check out the video for PVF? in the above post, it's pretty awesome.

In first for 2009, from London, UK:

1. MUMFORD AND SONS: Little Lion Man (UK)

BTW, for those of you who think I'm crazy, this is the world's biggest music poll so it does kinda matter. Plus 80% of the people I know will be listening to this today, maybe more. So it's big in my world, at least Smiley

Matchu: 1901 is better, I agree. Still, two songs in the top 20 is pretty excellent.

Agreed. Australians did overperform this year, with some great releases. Particularly Sia and Bertie Blackman impressed. But on the whole, 2009 was meh.

There were a few good things but last year was better.

I'm glad Silversun Pickups made it.

That song should have been in the top five.

Hell of a song. I feel like going into an asskicking frenzy every time I hear it.
