Warren G. Harding takes better care of his health and survives past 1924. His corruption scandals are completely exposed to the public in January 1924. However, Harding is still renominated by his party. The Democrats nominate Herbert Hoover (who refused to accept a Cabinet post from Harding back in 1921) to run against him. Hoover freqeuntly attacks Harding for his corruption scandals and argues that the American people have lost faith in their government. Also, Hoover emphasizes his experience in business as a good asset to have in leading a country during a time of prosperity. Who would win in this scenario? Discuss, with maps?
(LaFollette does not run in this scenario.)
My map might be generous to Hoover, but oh well.
Harding/Coolidge-48.98%-269 EV
Hoover/McAdoo-48.39%-262 EV
