I would have voted for the Christian Democrats in all years after WWII. Before WWII, I'm not sure who I would have voted for, but definitely not for Hitler.

When you vote for the CDU an have a score in the political matrix for economics -6,13 then you vote every time the wrong party.

I feel that the SDU spends too much on welfare and unnecessary/ineffecient programs, however. Besides, I think that the CDU is more economically liberal (in the American sense) than the Democratic Party in the U.S.

You think that you voted in every election a left patry. Why in this election Zentrum? This is very curious.

I made a topic like this before and when I lived at this time I voted for:

1919   USPD
1920   USPD
1924 (May)   KPD
1924 (December)   SPD
1928   SPD
1930   SPD
1932 (July)   SPD
1932 (November)  KPD
1933   KPD
1949   SPD
1953   SPD
1957   SPD
1961   SPD
1965   SPD
1969   SPD
1972   SPD
1976   SPD
1980   SPD
1983   SPD
1987   SPD*
1990   SPD*
1994   SPD*
1998   SPD*
2002   SPD*
2005   SPD*
2009   Green

There is no big difference.

KPD?! Seriously?!

They supported getting rid of the Weimar Republic! I knew you were pretty hard left, but that far?

I come from a district where the KPD was relatively strong. I wouldn't voted them with my knowledge of today. But if I had lived at that time, I would be so pissed off about the SPD, that I make a protest vote for the KPD.

1924 was the KPD "relative" moderate and to go from the USPD to the KPD is no big thing. In the end of Weimar the SPD make some compromises with the right Government, which I cannot agree with it. The only alternative for me would be the KPD.

1867(I): SVP (Sächsische Volkspartei - Saxonian People's Party, a left-liberal, partly socialist party that merged into the SDAP in 1869); if they did not contest "Old liberal" or something similar
1867 (II): SVP (if they not contest, some liberal party. By this time, I could have likely voted for independent liberal Ferdinand Goetz (later National liberal) in the "Leipzig county" constituency, that was containing the then-emerging industrial "suburbs" of Leipzig.
1871: SDAP (alternative: DFP: Deutsche Fortschrittspartei - German Progress Party, left liberal)
1874: SDAP (alternative: DFP: Deutsche Fortschrittspartei - German Progress Party, could have easily voted for Carl Heine, the developer of the now western parts of Leipzig, if I lived there (well, I lived there once, but now in the eastern parts, so: which counts? *g*)
1877: SAPD
1878: SAPD
1881: SAPD
1884: SAPD
1887: SAPD
1890: SAPD
1893: SPD
1898: SPD
1903: SPD
1907: SPD
1912: SPD
1919: USPD
1920: USPD
1924 (I): KPD
1924 (II): KPD? (or SPD because of economic recovery, KPD infighting and trying to avoid a totally right-wing governement)
1928: KPD? (or SPD)
1930: KPD (SPD was pro-Brüning then)
1932 (I): SPD (would not have bought KPD's "social fascism thesis")
1932 (II): SAP (Sozialistische Arbeiterpartei - Socialist Worker's Party)
1933: SPD (most likely)

1949: KPD
1953: GVP (Gesamtdeutsche Volkspartei - All-German People's Party, pacifist, moderate left, anti NATO)
1957: SPD
1961: maybe SPD, but their painting of Willy Brandt as new Kennedy at this point was just ridiculous; or DFU? (Deutsche Friedensunion - German Peace Union, pacifist, moderate left (and some kind of crypto-KPD),
1965: SPD (or DFU)
1969: SPD (or ADF)
1972: SPD (the most clear post-WWI pro SPD decision of all)
1976: SPD
1980: Greens, (or SPD to avoid Strauß as chancellor)
1983: Greens
1987: Greens
1990: Alliance 90/Greens
1994: B90/Greens (here starts my actual political memory, but I was nine years old at this time, so maybe I do this only in tretrospect)
1998: B90/Greens
2002: B90/Greens
2005: B90/Greens (so this is the time I actually started voting in federal elections)
