Wow, this is even more one-sided than Robert Gates' FF status.

HP, but using the term loosely simply because I just really don't care about Albright. I mean, I've lived through literally all of the Clinton administration...and I only discovered in 2008 who she actually was.

Don't know enough about her to judge.

The quote is rather frightening, but it could just be a verbal slip-up.

She did fine as Secretary of State. I agreed inter alia with Clinton's Balkan policy 100%.

I did not.  But it's very hard to argue with the success we had there.  I am not sure ANY U.S. military interdiction was ever as successful in terms of efficacy AND casualty combined.

And yes, FF.  She was a decent Sec'y. of State.  My wife actually got to meet her at a conference for women executives.  She also met Cokie Roberts and Liddy Dole.  She found all three to be wonderfully warm, gracious and engaging.  But Ms. Albright stood head and shoulders above the other two in terms of intellect and her understanding of issues interesting to women at the conference.

OK JS. I dislike the idea of ethnic cleansing, and that was what the Balkans was about, but it was localized, and really more in my view a moral issue rather than something along the lines of a more existential threat. And along those lines, that is why  I really disagree with considerably more intensity your opinion about Iran and nukes. I will address that in due course. Smiley
