July 2012

July 2, 2012 - Senator Thune criticizes Clinton for her inability to protect American citizens.  He says that Americans are afraid to go to stores because Clinton cannot protect them from radicals.  He vows that as President he will do whatever is necessary to protect American lives.

July 4, 2012 - The rebuilt southern wing of the Capitol Building is opened.  A memorial is placed outside to commemorate the lives lost there.

July 7, 2012 - British authorities stop an attempted terrorist attack in London.  Attacks were planned to take place at London's Heathrow Airport, the London Bridge Underground Station, outside Buckingham Palace, and the Tower Bridge.  Authorities did not learn of the attacks until July 5, but managed to stop all of them by the 7th, the intended date of the attacks.  The estimated death toll would have numbered about 800.

July 8, 2012 - Senator Thune again criticizes President Clinton, saying that British officials can stop attacks on their citizens, but President Clinton cannot.  The GOP releases ads showing tapes of the 1/27 attacks, the Subway Attack, and the Walmart Attack.  Although the ad is criticized and eventually pulled, it does the job intended.

July 18, 2012 - A shortlist for Senator Thune's vice presidential nominee is leaked.  Among them are:

  • Governor Sam Brownback of Kansas
  • Senator Sonny Perdue of Georgia
[/b]
  • Former Governor Jeb Bush of Florida
  • Senator Scott Brown of Massachusetts
  • Former Governor Mike Huckabee of Arkansas
  • General David Petraeus of New York
  • Senator Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma
  • Governor Rick Perry of Texas
  • Governor Mitch Daniels of Indiana
  • Former Governor Jodi Rell of Connecticut
  • Governor Jan Brewer of Arizona
  • Governor Bob McDonnell of Virginia

How is what possible?  I think you're talking about Sonny Perdue.  He was chosen by Governor John Oxendine to replace Saxby Chambliss, who died in the 1/27 attacks.

Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot about Chambliss dying! Smiley

Sorry! Please continue. Smiley
