EDIT: BTW, Rony Brauman took part in a recent documentary with images from Eichmann's trial.
It's amazingly interesting to see and hear Eichmann explaining his technocratic problems of logistics, transportation, climate, water, etc...

I've always asked myself what some of the high civil servants I knwo and work with everyday would have done at the same post...

Of course, Eichmann wasn't a "trivial" civil servant, he was first a very convinced Nazi. But he acted, behaved, thought like an almost normal civil servant. And, frighteningly, a very efficient one.

Eichmann enforced it with a zeal and a "efficiency" which are really frightening. He was the key guy in the mechanism, just after Heydrich.
You see a Streicher coming, you don't see an Eichmann coming....
And the anti-semitism was already very widespread (everywhere BTW, not only in Germany) for some decades when Streicher became vocal.

BTW, Streicher was let with a small satrapy of his own, but wasn't a prominent Nazi leader after 1933-35.

Eichmann was a very bad man, because he killed the people in his office on the paper. His hands were clean, but he is more guilty than the commander of the KZ. I voted for Streicher, because like Kal said, he built this atmosphere of hate (mainly against the Jews). Antisemitism wasn't new, but through people like Streicher it become main stream in the society. I voted him to, because he was Gauleiter of my home region.

Erich Koch deserves some consideration: he's the archetypical satrap, with his own German base (for power, money, "friends", etc.) and with his "playground" in occupied territories, with of course an important complicity in the Endlösung, locally, and in the repression of political opponents.

Erich Koch was really evil (and moron evil, different from efficient Eichmann and "clever" Heydrich).
