Now before you get mad, listen tight.

Democrats play to emotions. Oh, health care, the sick children.
Of social security, the poor old people who forgot to save their own money.
Oh, the poor getto gangstaz stole guns, so let's stop real Americans from buying them.
The poor lazy people, they deserve all our money.
Those cute little animals, we can't eat them or wear them or hunt them.

And etc.

Do the Democrats play to feminine, maternal emotions and instincts?

Yes, Democrats certainly play to emotions.

Republicans do the same thing, of course. Just on other topics.

You know what sucks?  I will tell you what sucks. Putting up whole threads just to state your little opinion about something (heck in this case a whole series of somethings about poor folks with loose shoes, spendthrift old folks, on and on), not attended by any factual content or reasoned analysis, in order to try to get a rise out of folks, and then packaging it all using a bunch of tendentious adjectives like anti-American, Socialist, Fascist, RINO, and the like. I am concerned that if this continues, it will really drive of posters who really add substance, who just can't stand wading through this sh**t anymore. What do you think? Are you as irritated as I am?

And by the way, the GOP has been called the Daddy party, and the Dems the Mommy party, since rocks cooled, and that advances a discussion well, absolutely nowhere. It's trite and stupid. Heck, these days the GOP are nanny state mommies bitching about the horror of death panels who will tell old folks that they have to die. Daddies would say, hey you are old and broke, and it is too expensive to keep you alive, so save the planet, and kick the F off this mortal coil ASAP to make room for someone more productive. Maybe from the planet all of this detritus comes from, the GOP should be called the castrated party - formerly daddies, but now useless for any kind of pleasure at all. At least mommies have vaginas!

I think I need a drink.

Everyone in electoral politics plays to emotions. And anyone in electoral politics who doesn't, has no business being in electoral politics.

It was a decent and effective, but ultimately joking, term that doesn't merit scrutiny. Republicans and Democrats aren't that fundamentally different economically.

The Democrats do try to play to our softer side side, the Republicans to the opposite. Everything in life boils down to emotions, to be effective politicians need to learn how to take advantage of this.

That's something of an understatement. Many are not so conscious in doing so, but humans are extremely emotivistic, & playing to emotions is the best way to change anyone's mind.

No, the Democrats 'play to' reason far more than the Republicans, who base their entire party on hatred and fear.  Hatred and fear really aren't exactly masculine emotions either.
