Since the office stretches back to 1775 (1733 if you count colonial governors) I'll start with the past sixty years. Enjoy! Smiley

Ernest Vandiver  (1959-63)
Carl E. Sanders   (1963-67)
Lester Maddox    (1967-71) (Round One)
Jimmy Carter      (1971-75)
George Busbee  (1975-83)
Joe Frank Harris  (1983-91)
Zell Miller            (1991-99) (Round Two)
Roy Barnes          (1999-2003)
Sonny Perdue     (2003-present)

Round 1: Maddox 6, Barnes 3, Perdue 2
Round 2: Perdue 3, Miller 3, Barnes 1 (Runoff necessary)
Runoff: Miller 7, Perdue 3

If you guys really aren't going to vote out Lester Maddox in the first round, then you need to learn some Georgia history. Smiley

For the irony factor of who is running this poll, I'll vote Barnes.

Well, you're native Georgian, I'm not. All my knowledge comes from sources and I've never been to Georgia. From what I read, Maddox as Governor, despite never, ever renouncing his racist positions, actually took pretty progressive approach to the issue.
