Remember when they polled all 50 states + DC about Bush`s approval rating, all Senators and Governors each month in 2004/2005/2006 ? Or Obama vs. McCain or Hillary vs. McCain in all 50 states ?

Now they are dropping states each month and in January, the only states that were polled were California, Oregon, Washington and Kansas.

Or is it just the media that has no money anymore to commission the polls ?

f you take a look at the 2006 mega polls, you'll see that SUSA only had to do twelve of the States pro bono and had local TV sponsors for the other thirty-eight.  Local TV news has apparently decided that doing monthly tracking polls generally don't spark ratings.  Thankfully, most people have better sense than to be political junkies.

I bet the giant 50 state polling was probably just intended to be a temporary publicity generating thing.

They should switch to robo polls so they can release 1000 polls/hour.

They use automated polls already.

So why aren't they as successful as Rassy? Or is he being bankrolled by some right wing billionaire?

Both pollsters are quite "successful," best I know of. Or do you define success as being how much stuff a business gives away for free?

Yes, I do associate the fact that Rassmusen Reports gives away a ton of polls for free far more than any other pollster with the inference that they have a ton of money to blow on self promotion.
