So far (not including Sunday 24), 9 newspapers, which endorsed GWB in 2000 have endorsed Kerry in 2004.

www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1000682627

Colorado:

Daily Camera (Boulder) 33,419

Connecticutt:

The Daily (New London) 39,553

Florida:

Bradenton Herald 52,163

Illinois:

Daily Herald (Arlington) 150,794

Michigan:

The Muskegon Chronicle 46,503

Missouri:

Columbia Daily Tribune 18,874

New Mexico:

The Albuquerque Tribune: 13,536

The Oregonian (Portland) 342,040

Washington:

The Seattle Times: 237,303

However, the York Daily Record (Pennsylvania) 46,554 has endorsed Bush having endorsed Gore in 2000.

If anyone knows of newspapers switching that I'm not aware of, then I would be grateful if you can add them to the thread. Many thanks!

As we've discussed in two other threads, newspaper endorsements mean no more than used tp at a truck stop.

agreed.  but it's a telling bit of evidence.  I'll try to come up with a list of newspapers that went with Gore in '00 and are with bush in '04.  Also, the WSJ doesn't make endorsements.  good for them.

yes, I make it one as well.   only one, as in:

A single newspaper that endorsed Gore in 2000 endorses Bush in 2004.

Most of those editorials from folks unsupportive of Bush in 2000, but supportive of Bush in 2004 come from individuals.  A few actors, local politicians, myself.  But not from newspaper editorial boards.

yes, there are 4 that endorsed Bush in 2000, but no one in 2004.  They are, by my count:

The Tampa Tribune, Wichita Falls Times Record, Winston-Salem Journal, and The Detroit News.

There may be others in either category, but that's the extent of my search.  Another interesting tidbit I found was that those newspapers which endorse Kerry, thus far, have a combined circulation of about 10 million, and those endorsing Bush have a combined circulation of about 5 to 6 million.  ***be careful here, newspapers are notorious for inflating these figures!***

These endoursements are only worth as much as the opinion of the editors.  In fact, this list tells me more about the direction of journalism than it does about Bush's performance.

Here's a list of endorsements.
http://www.dkosopedia.com/index.php/2004_Media_Endorsements

Kerry is winning the endorsement war.
Only twice since 1940 has a Democrat gotten more endorsements than the Republican ( http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/10/26/131125/44 )
