...oh wait, it's an internal poll.

http://www.montgomeryadvertiser.com/article/20100228/NEWS02/2280339/1007/news01/Bright-fares-well-in-election-poll

Bobby Bright (D) - 58
Rick Barber (R) - 26

Bobby Bright (D) - 55
Stephanie Bell (R) - 29

Bobby Bright (D) - 54
Martha Roby (R) - 30

Certainly this is a credible result for a Dem freshman in a district that went 63-36 for McCain. Or maybe it's because Bright is practically a Republican anyway.

Voted against healthcare reform and cap n trade I believe.  Its probably helping him.  This is one of those ones that could switch parties if congress is regained by republicans.

Am I the only one who thinks that Bright is not as vulnerable as people think? I mean, he was the mayor of Montgomery, the capital of the state and the largest city in the district. And fairly conservative for a Democrat, too.

These numbers seem about right.

Well, we already knew that Republicans would win 100% of the vote here (like they did in 2008).

Yes, indeed. GOP hold apparently.

Wow! If that's true, democrats won't lose more than 30 seats in the house. Bright is SAFE if the poll is correct.

If the GOP can't take down Bright, they're not gonna gain the house.

If the GOP can't take down Bright, they
must not have a high profile candidate in there.

Exactly what I was about to say. Bright could easily be encouraged to switch to the GOP too, I'm sure.

Interesting. Of course, it would be nice to see a proper poll for the district now. It would have been nice anyway, but especially after this.

Bright has done nothing to piss off the people who voted him in. Smart guy.

I find it telling that everbody is so assured that one seat will stay Democratic based off one poll. How were Charlie Bass and Nancy Johnson doing in March of 2006?

Since the NRCC hasn't published their own internal poll of this race yet, I think we can be pretty sure this poll isn't way off.

Not after the reception Griffith got from the local GOP when he switched. He'll be lucky to win his primary at this point.

Private polling showed them both in trouble.

Well, I guess a DINO is better than a right wing Republican.

You do realize that without these DINOs, Democrats would have been lucky to be up 10 seats in the House this congress?

So we'd only be able to pass bills by about 10 votes. Same as now then.

And Bright will be one of the first members to switch parties if the republicans take back the house.
