It's honestly not surprising.  When you no contested runoffs that anyone cares about except the candidates, that's what happens.

Considering the circumstances, Medina taking nearly 1 in 5 voters isn't half-bad at all. An encouraging sign.

Correct.  The fact that over 80% of Texas Republicans voted against a lunatic is extremely reassuring.
Hardly. Rick Perry is one too.

Btw, Lehrmann's beating Green 52-48 with about 65% of precincts in.  I don't see how he overcomes it given what's out.

Here is the county map:

A turnout map might also be interesting. All the data is on the SOS website if anyone cares to do it.

A turnout map might also be interesting. All the data is on the SOS website if anyone cares to do it.
In Harris County, it was 2.27% for Republicans, 0.80% for Democrats.  Texas doesn't have party registration, so these are relative to total registration.

For the primary in April it was 8.49% for the Republicans and 5.38% for Democrats.

The Democrats didn't have any statewide races, and the only Republican race was for the Supreme Court seat.  A lot of the turnout was in specific districts.  About 5% was in a Lubbock House district where a forever incumbent Delwin Jones was defeated (he was first elected in the 1960s), so turnout was probably 7 or 8X of that statewide.

There apparently not enough bikers in El Paso where Norma Chavez was beaten.

And turnout was a little bit higher in CD 15.  Curnock was the Republican candidate in 2006.  Flores has some more money.  If Nancy Pelosi was a real leader, she'd come campaign for Edwards.
