Hah.  Remember the way the dirty hypocrites complained about Saddam using chemical weapons?

George Bush and Tony Blair ought to both be tried for war crimes.

With all due respect, this article tells you nothing other than kids are born with birth defects in Fallujah- sadly as are children throughout the world.  By there own admission there are no statistics to support what it is alluding to. Further, they do not even suggest a cause.  I suppose it would be depleted uranium shells but they didn't mention this because they have no evidence of anything.

Nice to see that the cover-up is effective. The article clearly explains that birth defects have sharply risen specifically in Fallujah - the area where the fiercest fighting took place (and they've risen especially in the part of the city which stood out even in Fallujah). There are even indications of how the contamination occurred - by means of the water supply. One wonders why would the Iraqi government be so anxious to falsify statistics if there was another explanation.

So it's just a coincedence that a mass birth defect epidemic happened in a city where phosphorous was used?

White phosphorous isn't really known for causing birth defects. This looks more like depleted Uranium - a phrase that usually goes together with US army everywhere it's been active.

No statistics are given at all.  There is nothing but anecdotal accounts in this article.  I am not saying that this is not possible or even probable but this is not scientifically sound.

No statistics are given because the Iraqi government is covering them up. And as I said above, it seems to be working.

Well the United States army does use depleted Uranium shells. No surprise, it caused problems here. Also, I agree with this:

It doesn't matter what happens or happened, or what facts may be uncovered in time, everybody has already made up their mind on the subject.

I'm waiting for facts and if true, we should do what we can to not do it again.  Have better "clean up" rules where excessive use of depleted uranium (assuming that was the problem) was needed to get the job done.  Or use a different metal.  If 100% true, change of some kind would be needed and most likely would be coming.

If it's 100% false, the people in this thread won't change their mind about the US military at all.
