The people who approve of the guy that abandoned their state to go have sex in Argentina while simultaneously disapproving of Obama should be deported.

Is there any possibility Nikki Haley will win?  I kind of like her.

McMaster seems to be the candidate to beat. I've been expecting a runoff between him and Bauer (who he'd destroy) or Gresham (who he'd beat, but not as widely). She should've just run for Lt. Governor, nobody serious seems to be interested in that spot.

Umm. No. One guy ran off to have an affair with his 'soulmate,' but otherwise ran his state pretty well considering his obstacles, including a hostile legislature. The other guy is bankrupting our children and grandchildren while simultaneously shoving Socialist Healthcare down our throats and allowing his Chicago Thugs to tear down his political opponents. What Mark Sanford did to South Carolina pales in comparison to what Obama is doing to this country.

Lief, by the standard you're applying, Clinton should have been convicted after he was impeached, so don't be so quick to be looking for tinfoil.

I'll agree that Sanford should have had a way someone could have reached him while he hiking the Appalachian Trail, but the fact of the matter is that the Office of Governor of South Carolina has so little real power, that absent a hurricane or the like, it didn't matter that he was incommunicado for a week.  (And I say this as someone who thought before all this happened that he was a poor Governor and voted for his opponent in both the 2006 GOP primary and the 2006 general election.)

Not really.  I imagine that at this point, a good deal of that 12% share she has is coming from people who don't like the other three candidates and know that there are only four who are running.  She needed Sanford to have not taken up hiking to have a chance.

She does have an outside shot at making the runoff against McMaster, but I don't think at this point that she could win the runoff against anyone except Bauer.

The surprising thing for me in these results are the relatively high unfavorables for Sheheen. No way he deserves to have Fav/Unfav numbers similar to Ford.

The tinfoil was mostly in response to his paranoid ramblings about bankrupting our children and socialist healthcare.

The tinfoil was mostly in response to his paranoid ramblings about bankrupting our children and socialist healthcare.

It was overblown, but not to tinfoil levels.  Obama certainly hasn't been a a deficit fighter and his efforts towards seeming so are mainly smoke and mirrors, just like Republican proposals to trim the deficit have been for the last decade. Requiring people to acquire health insurance and providing subsidies to the less well off to do is certainly socialistic, despite its use of the forms of capitalism to implement the policy.
