I've always wondered why you like Marchais so much. He was such a loser...

On TV, he was really, really fun. And his way of speaking itself sounded a bit "Eastern"...

Of course, he was our little Brezhnev and wasn't a real democrat (remember all the members "purged" and the racist period of the PCF in 1978-1982), but he managed to help killing the PCF: not a bad thing for the French socialists Wink

But he was still a better man than Besancenot, I think !

Marchais was a funny man, not perfect, but funny. And at least he had principles. Unlike all other French politicians, he didn't stick around until the day before his death. He was not a cumulard. Also, eliminating Royer would be bad.

my vote:

Marie-France Garaud
Philippe de Villiers

Christiane Taubira
Jean-Pierre Chevènement

Guy Héraud
Jean Lecanuet

Personally, I'm not a great fan of funny politicians. But anyways yes, as Fab says he helped the PS a lot, and deserves my sympathy for that. Grin
