In 1994, Michael Reagan (son of Ronald) runs against Dianne Feinstein for the U.S. Senate and narrowly defeats her. Reagan successfully wins the Republican nomination in 2000. VP Al Gore still wins the Democratic nomination. Reagan argues that he will continue his father's policies and be more fiscally responsible since the Cold War is now over and large defense spending is no longer needed. Gore pledges to continue Clinton's economic policies. You pick the VPs. How would this election turn out? Discuss, with maps.

So was his father. Yet his dad won two Presidential elections in landslides. Michael would have the Reagan name going for him. Also, I did not say everything else stays the same, and I think Reagan would avoid making large gaffes if he was actually running for President instead of being a radio show host. I think Reagan would narrowly defeat Gore due to nostalgia for his dad, not just among conservatives and Republicans.

Senators don't have a good track record of winning. I say Gore pulls it out.

Reagan/Engler-338 EV
Gore/Lieberman-200 EV

Reagan wins due to nostalgia for his dad and since Gore is a poor campaigner and has no charisma. Even Bush Jr. managed to beat Gore in 2000, and there was much less nostalgia for Bush Sr. than for Reagan. I think Reagan would avoid making any large gaffes and would thus win by a larger margin than Bush Jr. did in RL.

I think that's Ron Reagan. Michael Reagan is a neocon Republican. I think he was Ronald Reagan's adopted son.

Yeah, yeah, that was Ron Reagan. I remember that he endorsed Kerry.

Why do you always assume criticism is directed at you? For once, it ain't.
