Yes and Perry would have been forced into a runoff (which he would have won in a landslide).

Dynamic was definitely going in her favor. It would probably be a coin-toss between them, and Perry would have stuck at 47-48% in this scenario. Of course, Perry-Medina runoff would have been a 2:1 landslide.

Probably not, you have to know the nature of Texas politics. Perry would have slaughtered her in the media and driven her numbers down, the same thing happened to Friedman and Strayhorn in 2006. That being said, she may have forced a runoff between Perry and Hutchinson (which would have still been a Perry landslide).
