No. Wilson openly threw liberties to the winds. Cleveland did not order the killings.

I'd say that any damage that Cleveland did to this country pales in comparison to what Wilson did to it.

I never liked Cleveland, though I occupy this nether world between libertarianism and moderatism.

No, Cleveland used the troops in order to allow trains to travel to Chicago again. THe strikers were blocking American commerce. Wilson had no justification for silencing people and putting them in jail when there was essentially no real threat from WWI to the American mainland (and don't tell me about the Zimmerman telegram, because the U.S. Army would easily crush Mexico's army in a war).

no, but I don't really think calling Wilson a fascist is accurate either, though he was  authoritarian.

What "nether world"? You're a moderate leftist now, aren't you?

So I criticize Republicans and now I'm a leftist Huh

I still want to privatize social security and shrink government, it's more I don't defend or particularly like the national GOP anymore.

Again, we should be rather careful with use "fascism" term. Labeling people with this so frequently only makes the real grimance to fascism appear to be less grim, which shouldn't happen.

Wilson was HP, but not fascist.

I agree with this as well as with the caveat that others point out that Wilson was clearly not a fascist.

Actually that's not very clear.

If Wilson wasn't a fascist then neither was Mussolini.

And to answer the topic question: Lol, no!

The only individuals who protested WW1 were mainly the socialists, but Woodrow Wilson deported them all. Thus future Libertarians probably benefited from the governments actions without even realizing it.

So? Tyrannical actions on the part of government are bad, regardless of whether they benefit us or not. Nevermind that the idea of libertarians benefitting from socialists being deported is rather questionable.

Wow, asinine post of the day.

World War one crippled the socialist movement. Just look at what happened to the like of Eugene Debs, and Bill haywood when they suggested that we should pursue a policy of peace.

Wilson wasn't a true Fascist. True Fascist like Mussilini were nationalist while Wilson was an internationalist who sold out America to the League of Nations and international bankers just as Jacob Shiff through the Fed. I hate to say it but a lot of libertarians are as idiotic as Neocons and Liberals.
