Hey...haven't been around all that much recently...but I'm back in Alton visiting family.

Just wanted to mention that I drove up to Springfield today and saw our very own forum representative muon in action today Smiley (and his bill passed Smiley)

Enjoying the nice warm weather....and drinking Heineken at this very moment (can't get much better over here Smiley)

Oh, and interestingly, at the bar I was just in in Jersey County....I met a real-life tea party guy....these people really exist? This guy voted for McCain in 2008 solely because of Sarah Palin being on the ticket.

If only we had more Muon's in state legislatures. Unfortunately we don't, including my own idiot state representative. I say that having had a dinner with him. I was just so impressed by his knowledge, and intellect, sense of fairness, and excellent temperament, and yes charm. Muon2 should be a US Senator! But then he is a physics professor in his day job. Enough said.

Jersey County!  "God's country", or so the locals say (don't the locals say that everywhere?).  I've been to a few bars up that way.  Farmer bars are great places.  Everybody knows everybody else (except you of course), the music is (almost) never too loud.  They rarely have Rolling Rock, but I'm not a beer elitist Wink and can drink generic American beer.

Funnily enough, as a Missourian, my perception of Illinois is almost 100% about strip clubs.  Basically the East Side is just strip clubs, slaughterhouses, spaghetti monsters of highways and railways, poor blacks, and Mississippi mud.  Come to think of it, for the USA, its just about the closest thing to a Real Place as exists.

I´m about to head back to Illinois from Iceland and I´m getting more and more depressed by the second Sad

(why do apostrohes in Europe manifest themselves so weirdly. I notice the same thing when Branson posts)
