Not enough better, but better.  You must realize that there's a lot more to Harris County than the City of Houston.  I wouldn't be surprised to see him get 53% in Harris County, which is quite a bit better than Obama did, but it'll be balanced by somewhat lower margins in Dallas County, Bexar County, and possibly Travis County (Republicans are more motivated this year, and Texas Democrats are very unreliable voters), and horrendously decreased turnout in the Valley.
