Going off of the other successful Alternate Universes, I’ve decided to create a future one for the 2016 election. Barack Obama has been elected to a second term. There is a Republican House and a Republican Senate, though both are extremely close and nothing can get done without bi-partisan corporation. We are completely out of Iraq, and mostly out of Afghanistan. The Taliban has been defeated, but Al Qaeda hasn't. There are growing tensions between Iran, and Israel which both have nuclear weapons. Obamacare has little effect, and social security is an issue. Unemployement at 6 percent. Growing tensions with North Korea. Social Security is also a big issue.

We will start January of 2015. I will post monthly polls and maps, you made not decide your own endorsements, you make request it to me.

How the primaries will work out. (From a random lot minus the first states)
Early January 2012: Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Nevada
Late January: Florida, Maine, Hawaii
Early February: Arkansas, Indiana, Colorado, North Dakota, Vermont
Late February: Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island
Late February: Idaho, New York, Virginia, Illinois, Delaware, D.C.
Early March: Ohio, Georgia, Arizona, North Carolina
Late March: Massachusetts, Texas, Alaska, Pennsylvania
Early April: New Mexico, Louisiana, Connecticut
Late April: Missouri, California, South Dakota, Michigan, Tennessee
Early May: Wisconsin, Utah, Maryland
Late May: Kansas, West Virginia, New Jersey
Early June: Alabama, Wyoming, Nebraska
Late June: Montana, Mississippi, Kentucky
Republican Convention Late-August
Democratic Convention Early-September

PM me or post here to be whatever candidate you’d like, Republican or Democrat. Here are some suggestions if you for some reason can’t think of any.

You might want to change it to just Tmthforu94, as my name will have changed at least once before this is all said and done. Wink

I'm hesitant to do this Alt Universe (I don't really care for future Alts), but...

Can I be Governor Scott Brown of Massachusetts? (reelected to Senate in 2012, elected Governor in 2014)

Put down justW353, not Senator Ted Kennedy, please.  I'll have changed my name by the time this is done, but I'll always have justW353 as a subname.

I will open the gameplay thread when there are at least three players on each party. You may continue to request to join until we get to December 2011.
